Barricading <br />of flooded streets for purpose of traffic re-routing. Emergency flood <br />control work that includes such things as sandbagging efforts and the <br />implementation of other methods to mitigate flooding. <br /> <br />· Stormwater Utilities <br />Asses flood threat to the town through use of weather prediction and <br />weather detection information. Initiate phone calls to stormwater utilities, <br />public works, police and fire regarding flood threat. Oversee flood control <br />projects to mitigate flooding. <br /> <br />Other Dougias County Entities <br /> <br />The structure, overall procedures, chain of command, and policies relating to the <br />preparation, response, and recovery in response to a major disaster or emergency, <br />including flooding, falls under the guidance of each entities SOP's and the Douglas <br />County IMGS. The SOP's and the Douglas County IMGS outlines the structure and <br />process for the coordinated, systematic delivery of public safety services in accordance <br />to a major disaster or emergency in each entities jurisdiction. <br /> <br />All entities are able to assist other county mutual aid agencies if requested, under the <br />Douglas County Mutual Aid Agreement. <br /> <br />Listed below are entities located in Douglas County that were interviewed along with a <br />summary of the major roles that they have with respect to flood related responsibilities <br />within the project area. <br /> <br />· Larkspur Fire District <br />Provide fire protection and emergency medical/ambulance services to <br />120 square mile area in southern Douglas County (West Plum and East <br />Plum Creek drainage areas and the population area of Larkspur). A <br />combination of volunteer and paid staff responds to emergencies. <br />Provide rescue services from collapse of buildings, trenches, or other <br />damage. Provide a representative to the county EOC that would <br />represent the Castle Rock Fire Chiefs Association, Inc. for operations <br />coordination. Inform the county when emergencies or disasters threaten <br />the town of Larkspur. <br /> <br />· Douglas County Search & Rescue <br />Provide search and rescue support within Douglas County including map, <br />compass and GPS use; climbing, rappelling, low and high angle rescue; <br />patient evaluation, packaging and handling. Staff is composed of <br />volunteers that respond to search and rescue requests that operate under <br />the authority of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. <br /> <br />· West Douglas Fire District <br />Provide fire protection and emergency medical services to 115 square <br />mile area in western Douglas County (West Plum and Plum Creek <br />drainage areas and the population area of Sedalia).
