II-2

Marshall Gulch joins South Boulder Creek just downstream of
Highway 93. Much of the drainage area in this tributary is controlled by
Marshall Lake, which is utilized as a water supply for the town of Louis-
ville. A number of homes along Marshall Gulch upstream from its con-
fluence are located in the flood plain. Very little development exists along
South Boulder Creek between the highway and the turnpike.

Between the Denver- Boulder Turnpike and Baseline Road, the
slopes become flatter and the creek channel meanders with sometimes
indistinct channel limits. Only minor development exists along this
section of the Creek.

Between Baseline Road and the confluence with Boulder Creek,
the channel passes through an urbanized area with homes built very near
the creek. North of Arapahoe Road, the area can be characterized as
industrial in nature although there is presently relatively little develop-
ment.

.

..
