day-and-a-half.

Officials in Phillips County said there was significant flooding into some basements,
some railroad tracks were washed out, and there was a lot of standing water in the
region. No injuries were reported.

The Weather Service said a weather spotter reported 8.2 inches of rain in one part of
Phillips County over two days. Other areas of the county reported only about three
inches.

In the Denver area, 1.7 inches was reported falling in just an hour near Conifer.

Northeastern Colorado has been hit hard by rain in the last couple of days -- with one
spot in Phillips County reporting 8.2 inches.

Flooding forced the closure of two highways there Tuesday night -- Colorado 23 and
US Highway 6 between Holyoke and Nebraska.

No injuries were reported and no houses were threatened by the flooding.

The National Weather Service said other areas of the county reported about 3 inches
of rain.
