(N/O Pierce) <br />14096 <br /> <br />Mr. Tom Browning <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Room 721 <br />Denver, CO 80203 <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Browning: <br /> <br />The Colorado Department of Transportation is currently working on the design to replace a bridge <br />on SH 85 north of the Town of Pierce at milepost 284.69. <br /> <br />On March 27, 2003, The Town of Pierce met with you and various agencies regarding the Town's <br />floodplain study. The decision was to have the proposed bridge be designed with the equivalent <br />opening areas as the existing bridge for Spring Creek runoff. <br /> <br />With that in mind, the Department has designed a new bridge with a similar opening. I have <br />attached the preliminary plans and specifications for your review. Please transmit your comments to <br />me by the first week of December so we can incorporate your comments into the plans. If you need <br />additional information, or want to meet with us for any clarification, please let me know. <br /> <br />Thank you for assisting us in improving the highways for the public and maintaining safety for all <br />who use these highway facilities.
