The mapping format selected will address participating communities with:in <br />County by consolidating community-based studies into a single countywide set of <br />maps. This initiative, known as the Multi-Hazard Flood Map Modernization Program, ,'s a <br />cooperative effort between the region, state and community officials and has the primary goals of <br />reducing the loss oflife and property, minimizing suffering and disruption caused by disaster, <br />and better preparing the Nation to address the consequences of flooding and other hazards. <br /> <br />In prep,aration for this potential actfvity a FEMA contractor will be in contact with your <br />community to solicit your input, participation, and support ofthi's program. The contractor <br />will collect, summarize, and provide available data tor use in the tlood mapping eflort to <br />FEMA for distribution to interested participants. The type of data that will be requested <br />includes, but is not limited to, the following: <br /> <br />· Elevation Data - LiDAR, Digital Elevation Models, etc. <br />· Base Map Information - Roads, Streams, etc. in GIS format. <br />· Aerial Photography <br />· Floodplain Ordinance Information <br />· Flooding Information - Areas of concern (flood damaged homes, inundated roads, etc.) <br /> <br />Should you have any questions or would like more intormation about the Map Modernization <br />Program, please visit www.tema,gov or contact me at (303) 235-4906.
