<br />#2 <br /> <br />Cooperative Action in Douglas County <br /> <br />The Parker Water and Sanitation District (PW &SD) is a leader in <br />cooperative action and conjunctive use to improve management of existing <br />resources and developmeIit of renewable water supplies. <br /> <br />,/ PW &SD began study and identification of potential conjunctive use <br />projects in 1984. District demonstrates feasibility of surface water <br />reinjection into Denver Basin aquifers in 1987 with Colorado Water <br />Resource and Power Development Authority. District was part of <br />conjunctive use demonstration project of bedrock injection with Denver <br />Water, Bureau of Reclamation and Willows Water District in 1991- <br />1996. <br /> <br />,/ Charter member of Douglas County Water Resources Authority <br />(DCWRA) in 1991. Represents twelve of county's largest water <br />suppliers. <br /> <br />,/ Denver Water Board adopts Integrated Resource Plan and proposes <br />"Cooperative Action" in 1996. <br /> <br />,/ Resolution of cooperation between DCWRA and Denver Water Board <br />to study conjunctive use projects in 1998. <br /> <br />,/ Denver Water Board and Colorado River Water Conservation District <br />adopt joint resolution to join collaborative study in 1998. <br /> <br />.I Front Range Water Forum (1993) exploration of cooperative. solutions <br />for future water supply culminates in Metropolitan Water Supply <br />Investigation, Final Report, 1999. <br />
