With best wishes <br />to Bob, paleo discussion is postponed until Bob Jarrett could be present. <br /> <br />2) Taped Notes: All agreed literal transcriptions are time consuming and expensive. <br />Alison will combine: notes from meeting, with a very abbreviated transcription <br />by Vanessa and Molly's notes to produce the summary. <br /> <br />3) What does the city - from a public admin effort - hope to get out of this [HAP] effort: <br />v' Greater Understanding ofthe problem <br />v' More realistic hydrology <br />v' Ability to put out more info to the public so they can deal with the issue and better help <br />themselves <br />v' Best possible warning system <br />v' Confidence and understanding of citizens <br />v' County wants to get is 1041' s certified by the state <br />v' Community, IRP, CAG doesn't want this effort to be a "how to build in the floodplain" <br />v' Better mapping of houses in "the floodplain" so that they will know how "wet" they <br />might get <br />v' Improved SO-, 100-, 500- yr, or whatever- forecasts <br />v' Adequate emergency management plan <br />v' Lower insurance rates <br />. <br />v' A model that can be updated to incorporate new info <br />v' Help the community, university, city, county build a shared understanding of what is to <br />be expected (possible) down the road <br /> <br />1 <br />
