DESICN FLOOD STUDY AND ROUTING

A hydrograph depic~ing ehe original inflow design flood is included in Appendix D.
The inflow design flood was approved .January 24, 1967, and has a peak inflow of
39,000 cf. and a IS-day volume of 202,000 acre-feec.

The flood routing begins wlch the reservoir filled to the normal vaeer surface
olevacion of 766~.OO. thIs vaeer surface Is melnealned "until ~he inflow is equal to
ebe maximum capaciey of ehe ouelet works of 2,900 cf.. The spillway radial gaces
then open at e recto of 8-feee for each 1-fooe of rise of reservoir elevation until
a maximum opening of 11.2 feet is reached. The peak release of 30,000 cfs 1s
reached about 6-hours after ehe peak inflow. At chis eime, ehe inflow has dropped
co 30,000 cfs and 9,500 acre-feee has been stored in the surcharge.

111-2

Revised 03/94
