In 2006, Xcel and <br />Denver Water entered into an agreement which permits Denver to reduce the call by 550 cfs at the <br />Shoshone power plant between March 20 and May 20 in years that Denver Water's projected <br />reservoir storage capacity is less than 80%; discussed at the July 2006 CBRT meeting. <br />SWSL CWCB manages the Statewide Water Supply hutiative (SWSI), which was created to <br />study long term water needs in Colorado after the Big Straw hutiative failed in 2003. <br />Water Availability Study: SB 07-122 appropriated $500,000 to study the amount of Colorado <br />water available for current and future needs.
