Figure 3: CCN concentration at 4 supersaturations derived from the data shown in Figure <br />2. <br />Data were obtained between 1 June and 27 July on 40 days when the instrument was <br />working well and the Stanley operational staff had time available to start and monitor the <br />instrument. A summary of the average daily CCN concentration at each of the 4 <br />supersaturations is shown in Figure 4. There is significant variation in CCN concentration <br />at each supersaturation over this period, with values at each supersaturation tending to <br />rise and fall together from day-to-day. Concentrations at 0.3% supersaturation varied <br />-3-3 <br />from less than 100 per cm to nearly 1200 per cm, while concentrations at 1.0% <br />-3-3 <br />supersaturation varied from a few 100’s per cm to over 2000 cm. (The instrument was <br />-3 <br />incapable of resolving concentrations over 2000 cm, as seen by the missing blue data <br />point for 9 July.) <br />6 <br />
