Limnology <br />Members would be selected, through an RFP process, for a three-year term, renewable for <br /> <br />one consecutive three-year term. Initial members of the SAB will be selected for staggered one-, <br /> <br />two-, and three-year terms, to ensure continuity in membership on the SAB. One or more <br /> <br />meetings of the committee will be called each year. <br /> <br />The SAB together and individually would be expected, among other things, to review and <br /> <br /> <br />comment to the AMWG and GCMRC on: (1) GCMRC's long-term monitoring and research <br /> <br /> <br />plans, (2) GCMRC's annual monitoring and research plans, (3) GCMRC's annual budget <br /> <br /> <br />proposals, (4) the results of GCMRC's completed monitoring and research activities, (5) the <br /> <br /> <br />results of any synthesis and assessment activities initiated by the GCMRC, and (6) any other <br /> <br /> <br />activities (i.e., program specific scientific advice) it is asked to address by the GCMRC Chief or <br />the AMWG. <br /> <br />The Strategic Plan proposes that the AMWG recommend implementation of some type of <br /> <br />SAB within FY 98/99. <br /> <br />SCHEDULE AND BUDGET <br />The Strategic Plan is designed to address monitoring and research for a five-year period <br /> <br /> <br />1998-2002. Each year in October, an annual plan is drafted to guide implementation of specific <br /> <br /> <br />elements of the Strategic Plan. It will have prior review by the AMWG and approval by the <br /> <br /> <br />Secretary of the Interior. The Annual Plan outlined in this document addresses monitoring and <br /> <br /> <br />research for FY 99, beginning October 1,1998. <br /> <br />Final Draft - (12/15/97) For AMWG Review <br />
