Colorado River

1. stream Gauges

There are several USGS-streamflow gauging stations on the
Colorado River and tributaries in the project area. Peak Discharge Estimation

Flood frequency analyses were performed using the log Pearson
Type III method, in accordance with "Guidelines for Determining
Flood Flow Frequency", Bulletin l7B (10). The series that were
analyzed represent primarily snowmelt floods which peak between
late April and June. Following the guidelines of the Corps of
Engineers, a regional skew of zero was used for the Cameo gauge
(8). The Appendix includes the results of the frequency
analyses. The "Hydrodata" system, developed by us West Optical
PUblishing, and the companion program for flood frequency
analysis, "fffreak", were used in the analysis.

-4-
