CC has requested an additional 1,000 af of storage <br />in the enlargement of Pueblo Reservoir <br />· Crowley County intends to use its Colorado Canal <br />shares and the shares that are pledged to the <br />county for both augmentation purposes and for <br />delivery through the Ark Valley Conduit <br />· CC needs assurances that the senior exchange <br />afforded to the Colorado Canal will in no way be <br />injured by this filing <br />· Pueblo's filing is impeding legislation to study <br />enlargement which allows lower valley water users <br />more storage to fully utilize the Ark Valley Conduit <br /> <br />Crowley County's <br /> <br />Recreational Interests <br /> <br />· If municipal owners of Colorado Canal shares (over <br />80%) cannot utilize their exchange rights because of <br />Pueblo's RICO filing, then they will be motivated to <br />move water out of Lake Meredith and Lake Henry <br />by whatever means possible, and diminish the <br />recreational opportunities for people throughout the <br />region who use the lakes <br />· CC has lease agreements with both the Lake Henry <br />and Lake Meredith Companies for the recreational <br />rights on those lakes <br />· CC has recently reconstructed the boat dock at <br />Lake Meredith <br />· CC has applied for grants with the OOW and GOCO <br />for additional funding for campgrounds, day facilities <br />and wildlife enhancement <br /> <br />26 <br />
