Changes in Coordination <br /> <br />Recognizing the impOliant aspect of the insurance industry in this business and that most <br />of our disaster recovery is handled through the insurance and risk-sharing industry in <br />Colorado, DEM has increasingly requested more participation and involvement from <br />those entities. <br /> <br />PROGRAM INTEGRATION <br /> <br />A. Integration of Mitigation Planning with other State Planning Efforts <br /> <br />Mitigation planning has been closely integrated with the planning effOlis related to the <br />following programs: <br /> <br />. Flood Management Assistance (FMA) Program, <br />. Pre-Disaster Mitigation Program <br />. Flood Map Modernization Program <br /> <br />In addition, the CWCB recently completed and approved the "State of Colorado <br />Floodplain and Stormwater Criteria Manual". This planning document provides <br />guidance to local communities on issues related to flood and stoflnwater management <br />within the state. <br /> <br />B. Integration of Mitigation Planning with FEMA Mitigation Programs <br />and Initiatives <br /> <br />Mitigation planning associated with this document has strived to include the integration <br />of other FEMA mitigation programs and initiatives. Specifically, the goals of the NFIP <br />Repetitive Loss Program have been integrated into the evaluation of mitigation projects <br />identified through this planning process.
