Craig Bell <br />Tony WilIardson <br />Shaun McGrath <br />Cheryl Redding <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />WELCOME AND INTRODUCTIONS <br /> <br />The Water Resources Committee meeting was called to order by Chair Phil Ward at 8:00 a.m. <br />Phil, Director of the Oregon Water Resources Department, welcomed Council members and guests. <br />Introductions were made around the room. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />The minutes of the meeting held in Sheridan, Wyoming on October 5, were moved, seconded and <br />unanimously approved. <br /> <br />PROPOSED AND SUN SETTING POSITIONS <br /> <br />The Committee first considered two sun setting positions, in the form of letters, under Tab C. The <br />Committee agreed to recommend thatthe Council reiterate its support for H.R. 135, the Twenty-First <br />Century Water Commission Act, which was reintroduced in this Congress (with the same bill number) by <br />Rep. John Linder (R-GA). The House has twice passed the legislation, but no significant action has been <br />taken in the Senate. A proposed letter was approved by the Committee, as proposed, with changes earlier <br />recommended during an Executive Committee conference call. It states in part that it has been "...some . <br />time since a comprehensive study ofthe available water supplies and the future water needs of the United <br /> <br />2 <br />
