<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Western States Water Council <br />Executive Committee Minutes <br /> <br />Seattle, Washington <br />July 14, 2005 <br /> <br />COMMEMORATION OF THE COUNCIL'S 40TH ANNIVERSARY <br /> <br />Hal mentioned the commemoration of the Council's 40th anniversary to be held this evening. A <br />program will begin at 6:00 pm. There are a number of former Council members who will be <br />attending. Some former Chairs will be introduced and there are a couple of folks who will join via <br />conference call. Roland Westergard is expected to provide a brief historical background if he arrives <br />in time. If he does not, Craig will provide this history. The staff has prepared a special publication as <br />well as some commemorative mugs and pens for the occasion. The celebration will be wrapped up <br />with a cake. Hal encouraged everyone to attend this evening's social hour. <br /> <br />Weir complimented the staff for their work in preparing the 40th anniversary commemorative <br />booklet. He found it very useful. Hal and others also offered their comments and compliments, and <br />acknowledged the role of the California Department of Water Resources in providing the graphics artist <br />for the project. <br /> <br />NOMINATING SUBCOMMITTEE <br /> <br />Larry Anderson reported on behalf of Roland Westergard, the Nominating Subcommittee <br />Chair, as Roland is in Carson City at the dedication of a new building being named in honor of <br />Governor Richard Bryan of Nevada. Roland is expected to join us at the social hour this evening. <br />Larry stated that the Subcommittee would propose maintaining the current slate of officers with the <br />exception of Roger Patterson, who currently serves as the Secretary/Treasurer. Roger will be leaving <br />state government to pursue private consulting. Therefore, the Subcommittee will move to nominate <br />Jack Stults as Secretary/Treasurer. Jack is agreeable to serving in this capacity. <br /> <br />FUTURE COUNCIL MEETINGS <br /> <br />The next meetings of the Council will be held in San Antonio, Texas on October 19-21. The <br />following Spring, the Council will hold its Water Policy Seminar in Washington, DC. This will be <br />held at the Holiday Inn Capitol on March 27-29,2006.
