Water Supply Reserve Account – Grant Application Form <br />Form Revised October 2006 <br />_______________________________________ <br /> <br />3. <br />Please provide an overview of water project or activity to be funded including – type of activity, statement <br /> <br />of what the activity is intended to accomplish, the need for the activity, the problems and opportunities to <br /> <br />be addressed, expectations of th e participants, why the activity is important, the service area or geographic <br />location, and any relevant issues etc. Please include any relevant Tabor issues. Please refer to Part 2 of <br /> <br />criteria and guidance document for additional detail on information t o include. Attach additional sheets as <br /> <br />needed. <br /> <br />The study is needed in order to look at new storage possibilities in the barrow pit and expanding the <br /> <br />Jackson Gulch Dam. The Mancos Valley is in need of additional storage of approximately 2,000 acre <br /> <br />feet of wat er in order to provide for future water needs. The Jackson Gulch Reservoir Expansion <br /> <br />Project consists of 2 components. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1) Lake Mancos Dam. ($38,000) <br />= ($20,000 + $18,000 <br />) <br /> <br /> a. The funds will be used to provide a feasibility study for a new Lake Mancos Dam, <br /> <br /> <br /> Reservoir and Canals at the borrow area created in the original construction. <br /> <br /> b. This application asks for $20.000 from the Statewide Account . <br />( 53 %) <br /> <br /> c. With the remaining $18,000 from in - kind contributions . <br />( 47 %) <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />2) Jackson Gulch Dam. ($80,0 00) (from the Basin Account) <br /> <br /> a.
