The Association is a legal entity with which CWCB can contract; we have contracted with Colorado state agencies and federal agencies in the past. The Association was es tablished in 1996 as a non - profit organization whose purpose is to empo wer a broad - based coalition of riverfront landowners, farmers and ranchers, environmentalists, irrigation companies, outdoor recreationists, in - stream gravel mining companies, and concerned members of the North Fork community as the driving force behind wa ter resource projects and programs. The group works closely with all river interests to develop consensus and collaborative solutions to rehabilitating a river corridor that was straightened and annually disturbed by bulldozers for 50 years.
