We understand you have had conversations <br />with Chuck Vale, Routt County Emergency Services Coordinator regarding <br />our request. The latest FIRM mapping within the city limits occurred in April, <br />1983 and portions of the county were mapped in September, 1989. The <br />Steamboat Springs area has experienced significant growth since the <br />mapping occurred and the current maps- are totally inadequate for any <br />meaningful planning purposes. <br /> <br />We would request that first priority be given to the area between the Yampa- <br />Elk River confluence and Lake Catamount which includes the City of <br />Steamboat Springs and it's related growth area.
