The winter flow recommendation of 3.5 cfs is
available at least 50% of the time from (August 1 st - November 14th and February 15th - March
31 st). Based on water availabilitl' the winter recommendation was further reduced to 3.0 cfs for
the time period of November 1St - February 14th.
Precipitation Data
Staff reviewed a local precipitation data set from 1 site located around the Smith Fork Gunnison
Drainage (see Precipitation Data in Appendix C). Table 3 shows the water year and the percent
of average precipitation recorded at each site. It is staff s opinion that the 60 years of stream-
flow data analyzed is representative of slightly below average water-years.
Table 3: Precipitation Data as a percentage of Average
Elevation = 5690
Lat 38 52 00
Long 107 35 00
Year Paonia ISW
1957 50%
1958 88%
1959 87%
1960 86%
1961 108%
1962 103%
1963 102%
1964 115%
1965 136%
1966 89%
1967 91%
1968 100%
- 5-
