Any prototypes the Solutions Work Group comes up with must adhere to core (shared)
principles earlier developed specific to our group:
. We support sustainable, smart growth
. We support sustainability of rural communities
. We support maximum utilization of water to enhance the environment and the
economy of the basin, especially rural community, while protecting private
property rights
. When and if water is relocated/reallocated from agricultural uses, it should be
done in a way that supports the economy and environment of rural communities
while recognizing ongoing processes and utilizing information from ongoing
stud ies

The committee determined that funding will be needed for:
. Facilitation/organ ization/coord ination
. Mileage reimbursement to Advisors
. Fact finding/research
. Lunches/meeting rooms (to be subsidized by those who can donate such as
Pueblo Board of Water Works, SECWCD, and others.)
. Funding will be sought from basin roundtable funds of the Water Supply
Reserve Account at the September 12, 2007 ABRT meeting
. Later, when prototypes are selected for research and experimentation,
additional funds will be sought from a variety of sources.

For information on how the Solutions Work Group came to be, refer to
Summary to Date of the Work of the Arkansas Basin Roundtable's Water Transfers
Committee, which follows.
