The most significant benefit from conservation programs results from lowering the summer peak
flow demands. The District has instituted three day watering schedules with mandatory
compliance required for Home Owner's Associations and large outdoor water users.

Cost of Water Supply

The District has a tap fee of $1 0,500 for a residential account. The average residential cost of
water is $1. 80/ 1000 gallons with an aggregated cost of $1.88/ 1000 gallons for all classes of
users.

Based on recent construction projects, the District has been developing 200 acre-foot! year for
well production capacity in Arapahoe/ Laramie-Fox Hills well pairs for $1,400,000. This includes
$550,000 for the wells, pumps and screens, $740,000 for pump stations plus a contingency (no
land costs are included). If aeration is required to remove dissolved gases (typical of Laramie Fox
Hills wells), then an additional $200,000 per well is required. Representative pump and motor
lives for Arapahoe wells is 6-8 years and 8-10 years for Laramie Fox Hills wells.

Current Well Capacity

ECCVWSD currently operates 51 wells (as of February 2001) within the District boundaries and
six wells on State land Board properties as Rangeview I. Table E-3 provides descriptions of these
wells. The Well Inventory in Appendix E.2 provides greater detail on these wells.

Table E-3 - EccVWSD Well Characteristics

No.

Well

Permit No.

Production
Ac-ft/yr

Dawson
1 DA-12
2 DA-13

Arapahoe
3 A-I (Zone 1) o 17490-F 364
4 A-2 (Zone I) 017491-RF 233
5 A-3 (Zone 1) O17486-F 145
6 A-15 (Zone 1) 27262-F 125
7 A-16 (Zone I) 052126-F 125
8 A-17 (Zone 1) 29191-F 124
9 A-19 (Zone I) 053665-F ll5
10 SA-I (Zone 1) llO
1 I SA-2 (Zone 1) 050584-F 110
12 SA-3 (Zone I) 049396-F 110
13 SA-4 (Zone I) 042402-F 110
14 A-4 (Zone 2) o 17489-F 279
15 A-5 (Zone 2) o I 7492-RF 412
16 A-6 (Zone 2) O17493-F )'",
~.)
17 A-7 (Zone 2) o 17488-F 323
