The Planning Team utilized a mapping tool available through the USGS web site that
allows the user to create customized maps displaying the degree of susceptibility to
ground shaking, a measure used to determine the likelihood of future damaging
earthquakes. The map created is below. By USGS definition, it shows that northeastern
Colorado is exposed to a very low risk. The Planning Team has therefore eliminated
earthquakes from further consideration as a hazard threatening the Planning Area.

105' OO'W04. 30'W04" OOOW03" 30'Woo" 00'W02" 3O'W02" Or:JW
41' OO'N 41" Or:JN

40' 30'N 40' 30'N
'rig
1BO
100
40' OON 40' OO'N BO
60
40
30
25
39' 30'N 39" 3O'N 20
15
10
9
B
39' OO'N 39" Or:JN 7
6
5
4
3
38' 30'N 38" 3r:JN 2
1
0

38' OO'N 38" OO'N
105' OO'1N] 04. 30'Wl 04" OO'W103" 30'W103" OO'Wl02' 3OWl02" OO'W

P"..k Aooelell!ltion!'%llJ w~h 10% Prob..bility of Exooed..noo in 50 Y...",
miles ..ite: NEHR P B-G bound..ry

Source:~.usg~gov

38
