They can annihilate power distribution systems, commercial businesses, <br />residential neighborhoods, automobiles and crops. They can create tremendous debris <br />removal problems, overwhelm building departments, and psychologically scar residents. <br /> <br />Little can be done to reduce the damages caused by tornadoes - though recently, <br />significant strides have been made to improve life safety during these events - most <br />notably through improved warning systems and the installation of "safe-rooms." <br /> <br /> <br />35 <br />
