Federal Emergency Management Agency
Washington, D.C. 20472
OCT 0 6 1998

LETTER OF MAP REVISION BASED ON FILL
218-65-RS

IN REPLY REFER TO CASE NO. 98-08-419A

Community: Gunnison County, Colorado
Community No.: 080078
Map Panel Affected: 0615 B
Map Effective Date: September 29, 1989

We reviewed a request dated August 10, 1998, for a Letter of Map RevisioJ. All required information for this
request, including the required review and processing fee, was received on September 22, 1998. Using the
information submitted and the effective National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) map, we determined portions of
the property described below are in a Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA), the area that would be inundated by the
flood having a I-percent chance of being equaled or exceeded in any given year (base flood); however, the structure
on the property is not in the SFHA. This property was elevated by the placement of fill after the date of the earliest
NFIP map showing the area in the SFHA.

Property De~ription: Lot 46, Gunnison River Filing No.2, as shown on the Plat recorded as Reception
No. 284268 in the Office of the Recorder, Gunnison County, Colorado

Street Address: 400 Apache Road

Flooding Source: Gunnison River

This letter revises the above-referenced NFIP map to remove the structure from the SFHA. The structure is now in
Zone X (unshaded), an area of minimal flooding outside the SFHA. Flood insurance coverage for the structure may
be available under a low-cost policy (see enclosed document). Because portions of the property remain in the SFHA,
any future construction or substantial improvement on the property remains subject to Federal, State, and local
regulations for floodplain management.

The enclosed document provides additional information about Letters of Map Revision. If you have any questions
about this letter, please contact Ms. Sally P. Magee of our staff in Washington, DC, either by telephone at
(202) 646-8242 or by facsimile at (202) 646-4596.

Sincerely,

'\~~. ~~

Matthew B.
