I for planning and constructing water conservation projects in the Yampa Valley. Formed under
I the "Water Conservancy Act" the Upper Yampa Water Conservancy District (UYWCD)
I completed the Yamcolo Reservoir in 1980 and Stagecoach Reservoir in 1989. It manages these
reservoirs and a hydropower plant at the Stagecoach Dam. Along with Gardener Park Reservoir
the District has approximately 41,000 ac-ft of storage. Annual revenues of approximately two
million dollars per year from a combination of mill levy, water sales, interest, and power
revenues. 2006 water contracts totaled approximately 21,600 acre feet.
