SUBJECT: Applications for Mancos Water Conservancy District

Dear Mr. Brown:

The Southwest Basins Roundtable (SWR) is pleased to submit applications from the
Mancos Water Conservancy District (MWCD) for funding from the Water Supply
Reserve Account (Account). These applications have unanimous approval by SWR.
Sent simultaneously with this email are:

1) Two files ("Basin App Email # I" and "Basin App Email #2") which is the
application from the MWCD for $80,000 from the SW Basin fund

2) and two files ("State App Email #1" and "State App Email #2") which is the
application from the MWCD for $20,000 from the State Fund.

SWR agreed to fund the extensive $80,000 study by the MWCD to increase the capacity
of the existing Jackson Gulch Reservoir by raising the crest of the dam about 5 to 6 feet.
SWR is requesting that the State fund a simultaneous $20,000 study to determine if an
existing borrow pit near the Reservoir would be suitable for water storage.

SW highly recommends that the CWCB approve funding of this critical project from a
combination of the SW and State "pools" ofSB179 funds. Please contact the applicant or
