The releases,
currently at 500 cubic feet per second (cfs), will be reduced to 250 cfs for the 5 days. The
purpose of the test is to analyze potential impacts the low flows may have on the river,
recreation, and diversion structures.

Reclamation will coordinate the test with the fly fishermen, recreationists, water users, City of
Farmington and the State of New Mexico. Reclamation staff will monitor the conditions on the
river before, during, and after the test. When the 5-day test is over, releases from Navajo
Reservoir will be gradually increased until they are back at the 500 cfs level.

Low Flow Release Schedule

Sunday, July 9 500 cubic feet per second (cfs)
Monday, July 10, 7 a.m. 400 cfs
9 a.m. 300 cfs
11 a.m. 250 cfs
Saturday, July 15 7a.m 375 cfs
9 a.m. 500 cfs

The test is part of Reclamation's environmental review process for a draft Environmental Impact
Statement they are preparing on the Operations of Navajo Reservoir.
