<br />; <br /> <br />'; <br /> <br />Ongoing Water Conservation Practices <br /> <br />In 1996 the City completed a Water Conservation Master Plan and initiated programs to <br />implement the best management practices identified in the plan. The following is a <br />summary of some of the ongoing water conservation practices supported by the City. <br /> <br />Water Metering - The City is committed to act as a role model for the <br />community for achieving water conservation goals and all City facilities <br />are on metered service lines. In addition all residential services are <br />metered. <br /> <br />Irrigation System Upgrades - The City has upgraded the timers on its <br />irrigation systems, and has ongoing programs to improve the system and <br />operate during an appropriate time of day. <br /> <br />Water Conservation Education - The City has completed construction of <br />two demonstration Xeriscape Gardens. <br /> <br />Leak Detection - The City has an ongoing leak detection program. <br /> <br />Increasing Block Rates - The City has implemented an increasing block rate <br />structure for single family and duplex residences. <br /> <br />City Ordinances - Several City ordinances have been put in place that <br />include codes for appropriate Xeriscape plant materials, an ordinance to <br />not allow waste of water, a landscape ordinance, incentives for Xeriscape.. <br />and soil amendment requirements. <br /> <br />Section 2 - Application Submittal Requirements <br /> <br />1. Mr. Youngberg has over 25 <br />years of public sector experience in many areas, including water and wastewater treatment, <br />water quality assessment, engineering project management, permitting and regulatory <br />acbvities and industrial pretreatment. He is a professional engineer in the State of Colorado. <br /> <br />Ken Huson, City of Longmont Water Resources Administrator, is a registered engineer with <br />over 25 years of experience in the water industry.
