Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service Northern Plains Engineering Team Lakewood, Colorado August 13,2003 Willow Creek Channel Feasibilitv Report Job Number: Ca0103 Short Job Description: Willow Creek Channel Replacement Location: Mineral County, Colorado Description of Job: The Willow Creek channel that runs through the town of Creed in Colorado was designed by the Army Corps of Engineers and constructed in 1950. The charmel has sustained significant amount of deterioration throughout the years. The channel needs fixing to provide the adequate capacity for the design flood flow of 1,800 cubic feet per second. Purpose of Report: The purpose of the report is to present the feasible costs of replacing the channel to the Willow Creek Reclamation Committee. The report covers the replacement option with some recommended design alternatives. Cost estimates of these design alternatives are also given in the report. Recommendations are made in the report using a decision matrix. The decision matrix if needed will also aid the Willow Creek Reclamation Committee in determining the appropriate replacement alternative.
