In a letter dated June 29, 2000, Ms. Sheila Beissel, P.E.,
Senior Civil Engineer, Department of Community Development, City of Westminster, requested that
FEMA revise the FIRM to show the effects of placement of fill associated with the development of
Walnut Grove Subdivision Filing No. 10 along the southern floodway fringe of Walnut Creek from just
downstream to approximately 1,800 feet downstream of West 108th Avenue. In addition, this request
included detailed topographic information obtained from a 1998 field survey to reflect existing
watershed conditions.

All data required to complete our review ofthis request were submitted with letters from I __
-'P.E., Project Engineer, Rocky Mountain Consultants, Inc., and Ms. Beissel.

We have completed our review ofi:he submitted data and the flood data shown on the effective FIRM.
We have revised the FIRM to modify the floodplain boundary delineation of the flood having a I-percent
chance of being equaled or exceeded in any given year (base flood) along Walnut Creek from
approximately 400 feet downstream to approximately 1,600 feet downstream of West 1 08th Avenue. As
a result of the modifications, the width of the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA), the area that would be
inundated by the base flood, for Walnut Creek decreased. The modifications are shown on the enclosed
annotated copies of FIRM Panels 080008 0002 B and 0006 C. This Letter of Map Revision (LOMR)
hereby revises Panel 0002 B of the effective FIRM dated September 30, 1988, and Panel 0006 C of the
effective FIRM dated April 2, 1997.

The modifications are effective as of the date shown above. The map panels as listed above and as
modified by this letter will be used for all flood insurance policies and renewals issued for your
community.

A review of the determination made by this LOMR and any requests to alter this determination should be
made within 30 days. Any request to alter the determination must be based on scientific or technical
data.
