In addition, the Bureau of Reclamation, National Park Service, and the Bureau of <br />Land Management have agreed to provide funding for the streamgage at Gunnison River below <br />Gunnison Tunnel. Funding opportunities are being discussed with cooperating agencies for the <br />San Juan River near Pagosa Springs, During Water Year 2000, the operation and maintenance <br />of this streamflow gage will continue while cooperator support for this gage is determined, If your <br />agency would be willing to discuss the possibility of funding a part of the cost of operating the <br />unfunded gage, or know of another organization that may have that interest, please contact us, <br /> <br />The meeting content also will include discussions of USGS budget initiatives for streamgaging <br />activities that have been presented to the Congress for FY01 and are planned for FY02. World <br />Wide Web-based information dissemination plans for data collected by the USGS also will be <br />discussed. I would welcome suggestions from any of you about other topics that you would like <br />to have included on the agenda, <br /> <br />We sincerely. hope you will be able to attend the meeting to help us make the best possible <br />decisions to continue to provide information to understand and manage the water resources of <br />the State of Colorado. <br /> <br />Please let us know if you plan to attend by contacting Cass Vigil at (303) 236-4882, extension <br />258 or by email at cmvigil@usgs,gov by April 28, 2000, <br /> <br />The meeting will be held at the Denver Federal Center (DFC) located at West 6th Avenue and <br />Kipling Street. An agenda will be distributed as the meeting date draws nearer. A map of the <br />DFC showing the exact location of the meeting also will be provided.
