Eric Hecox agreed to put together a document based on the IBCC discussions. The purpose of
the document is to summarize outstanding questions and provide a framework for roundtable
discussions.

Concrete Actions for the Next Six Months

Committee members proposed the following as possible actions for the IBCC over the short
term:

Complete criteria for funding projects ( SB 179)
?

Definition /scop ing of report to legislature due in October
?

Hear presentations from roundtables regarding their needs and priorities
?

Dialogue between IBCC and roundtables development of a statewide perspective
?

Update on SWSI & gap analysis status
?

Id entify and discuss wh at the IBCC can do to help each basin to complete their needs
assessment
?

Create Public Education and Outreach Working Group
?

Discuss drought -- How do we define drought and whether we are in one? What
methodology and baseline data should be used? Identifi ed as an important part of water
supply planning and public education. Possible link to research capacities at state
universities .
?

Identify priority topics that would benefit from research by CSU or others

Discussion of Date for Next Meeting

The group agreed to meet June 30 (Friday) in the Denver area – exact date and location to be
determined. Every effort will be made to schedule subsequent meetings, where possible, outside
the Denver area and in conjunction with a Basin Roundtable meeting. Pueblo (meeting point for
the Arkansas Roundtable) was suggested as candidate for a summer meeting.
