±½ mile grid beginning at the river and extending southwesterly fro m three to five miles.
Wells will be located within the respective shaded area shown on the map attached as
Exhibit A. Depth to groundwater will be measured in each well and converted to M.S.L.
elevation using the surface measurement. River water elevat ions will also be obtained
where the northerly edge of the study area meets the Rio Grande. Davis Engineering
proposes to use GPS equipment to accomplish the surveying. Ultimately, the measured
river and groundwater elevations will be mapped and groundwa ter contours will be
plotted. Contour configuration will then be used to map the location of the hydraulic
divide.

FINAL PRODUCT

The final product will consist of a GIS based map, compatible with RGDSS GIS
mapping, containing the location of all wells i n which the groundwater level was
measured. The well locations will be in NAD 1983, UTM coordinates, Zone 13 N.
Using measured groundwater levels at the wells, a groundwater level contour map will be
prepared on the GIS map. Within the hydraulic divide study area, the hydraulic divide
will be drawn using the groundwater contours to define the divide between the Closed
Basin and the Rio Grande .

PROJECT SCHEDULE

The period during the year in which well pumping stops and the groundwater levels
stabilize i s January through March. During February and March of 2007 , wells will be
selected and groundwater level measured. Survey of selected well locations and
measuring point elevations will begin during the groundwater level measuring process
and be completed within ±2 months thereafter. Mapping will be initiated immediately
and completed within ±1 month after all field data is collected. Assuming authorization
to proceed is received by February 1, 2007, all work will be completed by June 30, 2007.

COMPENSA TION

Davis Engineering Service, Inc. proposes to perform the SLV Groundwater Level Study
as an independent contractor furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and
transportation not to exceed $6 0,000. Actual charges will be computed based on time
and cost at $100/hour .
3
