Senator Isgar:
We know the need is far in excess of
whatever we come up with. You know, let me mention a couple,
you know, a little familiar to you.
I ha ve a little community in [unintelligible]. They don't
have a lot of money. You know, over here in '02 when it was dry
and people over here were concerned that they were down to
watering just one to two days a week, this community didn't have
any outside watering for the summer, starting in May going all
the way into September -- I think September, October when a couple
farmers know what really good water was [unintelligible] so
people could keep their trees alive.
It’s those small communities that don't hav e the resources
that maybe go gamble on getting a project and getting past the
feasibility and environmental compliance, and that's what we're
talking about.
Chairman Grossman:
Is there a discussion on L001? Senator
Taylor?
Senator Jack Taylor:
Thank yo u, Mr. Chairman.
I'd just make a comment that, to me, this is a good use of
severance tax dollars compared to the many other bills, I mean,
some of the other bills that are seeking severance tax dollars.
Chairman Grossman:
Further discussion of L001? See ing
none, is there objection to L001? That amendment passes the
amendment phase. Senator Isgar?
- 29 -
