<br />We don't know what will unfold over the course of the next <br /> <br />12 months, 2 years, 3 years. And if it doesn't bear fruit, then <br /> <br />I think obviously we would have to come back and take a look at <br /> <br />the mechanism. <br /> <br />But as it lS now, the roundtable process has exceeded the <br /> <br />expectation. We got a charter approved this year when many <br /> <br />didn't think that we would. And so, I think it is a statement <br /> <br />of commitment on the part of the legislature to the process <br /> <br />going forward. <br /> <br />And I think that really the critical plece of the bill that <br /> <br />passed last year and the bill that passes this year, that we're <br /> <br />talking about right now, is that each local roundtable has the <br /> <br />protection over projects that allocate our water. <br /> <br />If we're <br /> <br />going to build projects that we're going to meet our water <br /> <br />needs, it's going to have to be in a consensus fashion and <br /> <br />that's what the 1177 Process and, I think, 179 forces us to work <br /> <br />on. <br /> <br />I just wanted to commend you for all your hard work on it <br /> <br />and thank you. <br /> <br />Chairman Isgar: Representative Curry? <br /> <br />Representative Curry: <br /> <br />Thank you, Mr. Chairman. <br /> <br />And I was one of the people that asked for the Conference <br /> <br />Committee. <br /> <br />I think there are some unresolved issues between the <br /> <br />Water Conservation Board process and this new roundtable process <br /> <br />- 5 - <br />
