Appreciate your time today. <br /> <br />Director George: Thank you. <br /> <br />Chairperson Curry: Doug Kemper? <br /> <br />Mr. Doug Kemper: Thank you, Madame Chair, Members of the <br /> <br />House Committee. <br /> <br />My name is Doug Kemper. <br /> <br />I'm Executive Director of the <br /> <br />Colorado Water Congress. We are a statewide organization <br /> <br />representing water interests. One of our functions is to insist <br /> <br />on a strong statewide program for the conservation, development <br /> <br />and protection of Colorado's water supplies. <br /> <br />We do have a state Affairs Committee that takes positions <br /> <br />on legislation. We did reVlew Senate Bill 179 on February the <br /> <br />13th, took a strong position of support of this bill. <br /> <br />We have generally been very supportive of the 1177 process. <br /> <br />Particularly, we think that one of the ways of having a strong <br /> <br />state program lS by having a strong dialog on water issues.
