Verbal statements from Erik Bikis and
Brice Lee on 1/8/04 indicate additional irrigation will occur.
What will the reservoir be used for and where is the engineering to support
supplemental irrigation, if applicable?
What are the evaporation and evapotranspiration calculations?

"The reservoir would empty entirely most years between April and July (page 2,11)"
K. Beegles indicates that would not occur because

Inflows to the reservoir are expected to increase in the future, due to irrigation return
flows (page 2, 16,17)
Basis for claim and quantification method?

Stream guage and diversion records for 10-year period 1989-1998 were input into model
(page 2)
Why this period and why not the entire period of record?

"This BA concludes that the Long Hollow Reservoir Project may adversely affect the
federally endangered Colorado pikeminnow and razorback sucker based on water
depletions from the San Juan drainage." (page 5)
Problem facing proponents of reservoir project (KWK)

"This results in an under-delivery of Compact water to New Mexico" (page 8).
"The state engineers of Colorado and New Mexico disagree strongly on administration of
the Compact. Tensions between the states are ongoing and ultimately may result in legal
action" (page 9).
Potential explanation for not consulting with SEO (KWK)

"The reservoir typically will store water during non-Compact times (December 1 st -
February 15th) and other periods when the reservoir is in priority (page 11).
Were "shoulder flows" included in the model or water availability?

"The average annual flow in the La Plata River was reduced 480 af/yr at the Hesperus
gauge" (page 17)
Why, upper index is above all but two ditches and they are senior in priority?
K. Beegles - is there a ditch that can divert from La Plata above Hesperus and
serve Long Hollow?
