The <br />CWCB is responsible for conserving, developing, protecting and <br />managing Colorado's water for present and future generations. <br /> <br />The CWCB educates the public and works with its customers to: <br />· Conserve water for wise and efficient beneficial uses <br />· Develop water to preserve the natural environment to a reasonable <br />degree, and to fully utilize our state's entitlements <br />· Protect water for maximum beneficial use without waste <br />· Manage water in situations of extreme conditions - both for flood <br />and droughts <br /> <br />~he agency operates under the direction of a I5-member board <br />~omprised of representatives from eight major river basins and the City <br />and County of Denver plus the Department of Natural Resources <br />Executive Director, the Commissioner of Agriculture, the Colorado <br />Attorney General, the State Engineer, the Division of Wildlife Director <br />and the CWCB Director. <br /> <br />The CWCB supports local and regional drought and water supply <br />planning by providing: <br />· Technical assistance to communities and organizations requesting <br />support. <br />· Fiscal and technical resources for developing studies and drought <br />planning efforts. <br />· Low-interest loans for construction of drought mitigation and water <br />supply projects. <br />· Facilitation of collaborative planning efforts. <br />· Coordination of basin wide planning and multi-objective water <br />projects. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> <br />The Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board (CWCB) <br />serves in a management and <br />advocacy role responsible for <br />conserving, developing, <br />protecting and managing <br />Colorado's water for present and <br />future generations. <br /> <br />For more information about this or other water resource topics, please contact the CWCB at: <br />1313 Sherman Street.
