The CWCB funding is for a portion of the final year of a tbree-year <br />study. This study will assist local planners in the Upper Arkansas Basin in defining the needs for augmentation <br />and quantity of storage required to aecommodate area growth and increasing groundwater withdrawals. <br /> <br />All CWCB foods have been spent as of June 30.2004. The USGS is performing the work for the <br />VA WCD; they are scheduled to complete the study by September 30, 2004. <br /> <br />5. It is 1he intent of the Colorado Water CouservatiOll Board <br />(CWCB), Water Supply Planning and Finance Section, to utilize this information as a marketing tool to develop <br />new construction loans to rehabilitate and/or improve existing structures alcmg this reach of the South Platte <br />River. <br /> <br />In April of 2002, the CWCB hired the services of the Farnsworth Group, Incorporated, to evaluate the <br />hydraulic and structural condition of various raw water diversion s1ructures along the South Platte River, from <br />the Town of Henderson to the ColoradolNebraska State line. The information collected from these structma <br />included, digital photos, GPS coordinates, layout drawings, condition summary, repair/rep1acement scenarios, <br />cost estimates, and contacts. This information has been downloaded into a database and integra1cd with a <br />selected GIS software package. The South Platte Inventory Project has been completed and bard copies 01' CD's <br />of the final report for Districts 1.2 and 64 can be obtained at the Water Supply Plannmg and Finance Office. <br /> <br />The Farnsworth Group is cmrently working on obtaining the above-descnDed information for the Lower <br />Arkansas River. from the City of Pueblo to the state line. Currently. all field data has been obtained and the <br />consultant is preparing the final report.
