<br />Dakota, Nevada, Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Kansas to facilitate the exchange of interstate <br />atmospheric resource management information; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation has provided much needed technical <br />assistance and funding through the Weather Damage Modification Program for the benefit of <br />Colorado interests. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the CWCB supports Senate Bill 517 of the 109th <br />Congress entitled - Weather Modification Technology Transfer Act of2005 (S. 517) and would benefit <br />greatly from a coordinated national program that advances the field of weather modification as it relates <br />to precipitation enhancement for water management. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the CWCB supports the Weather Damage Modification <br />Program and requests that a Federal agency (U.S. Bureau of Reclamation or National Oceanic and <br />Atmospheric Administration) continue funding and administration of the WDMP by assisting in the <br />scientific evaluation of western states weather modification operations. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the CWCB Director and Board direct staff to convey such <br />support, through this resolution, to Governor Bill Owens and to Colorado's congressional delegation. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon successful passage of S. 517 the CWCB will work <br />with other western States through the North American Interstate Weather Modification Council to assist <br />with the implementation of the Weather Modification Technology Transfer Act of2005. <br /> <br />CERTIFICATE <br />We certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a Board Member Resolution discussed and <br />adopted by a majority vote of the mem ers of the Colorado Water Conservation Board at a regularly <br />scheduled board meeting assembled in alida, olorado on May 24, 2005. <br /> <br />K <br /> <br /> <br />Rod Kuharich - Director, Colorado Water Conservation Board Staff <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />rvation Board Members <br /> <br />~ <br />Barbara BIggs - C airperson, Colorado Water <br /> <br />2 <br />
