Sue: Dismay originally that SWSI only was going to go to 2030,
...ifwe go to 2050, as a planning tool; note Harold's comment
that EIS are already going to 2050.

Sasha Charney: how will this decision be made?

Sue: CWCB board and IBCC trying to assure common technical
background. We will not have one basin looking to 2030 then
another to 2050.

Walter Knudsen: If legislature says 2030, how will you now
move to 2050?

Sue: That was SWSI legislation that specified 2030.

Mike Shimmin: How much is this going to cost? We are not
going to have the money to do everything we want to do. Thus,
could be an economic choice. Would like information about
what it will cost to push study to 2050. I don't recall that this
roundtable has ever discussed this aspect.

Sue: No, this roundtable did not look at that; but per the requests
for your deeper assessment needs, subject arose.

Harold Evans: the request for this roundtable was to look at
providers who plan on using the same supply of water for future
uses; best example is Big Thomson water; for example, many
communities here all counting on BTB... thus try to get a handle
on this to see how to handle the gap.
Not sure that funds to take study to 2050 is significant; Greeley,
for instance, we are moving our study forward; we don't know
what our build-out is; City of Greeley has 2.5% growth rate, thus
from a planning standpoint, must look at 2050.

Mike Shimmin: How do you do that if a majority of the towns
and cities are not using that data?

Harold Evans: Use state demographer's office.

Mike: But state and cities don't have that info, so where do we
go for data?

Fred Walker: We need to voice our opinions so that Mike can
voice our concerns to IBCC especially since the decisions that
will be made will be made above us.

4
