The
technical considerations are similar for all alternatives. The costs and institutional requirements vary
between alternatives and are described in detail for each alternative. The following sections describe
the project's output/yield, impacts, institutional requirements and costs. Financial feasibility will be
addressed for the selected alternative in Chapter VI.

A. Impacts

A.I Man-Made Environmental Impacts

There will not be any foreseen environmental impacts to existing dwelling units, commercial
facilities, or other structures in the project area, due to the developed alternatives. There are no
utilities or roadways that will have to be relocated for the project. The pipe will be installed under
Three City of Greeley waterlines using microtunneling to avoid any conflicts. There are no
additional lands that would be inundated above the historical impoundment elevation 4959.93
(spillway crest elevation based on City of Loveland 1995 Datum).

A.2 Natural Environmental Impacts

Some wetlands may be impacted during the construction of the outlet works structures. It is
likely that a 404 Nationwide and/or Individual Permit from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
(US ACE) will be required for the project. There are no known endangered species at the project
area, but will be investigated during the permitting phase of the project.

Boyd Lake Dam Outlet System Feasibility Study

18

1f30VLE
