In a letter dated April 16, 2002,
, P.E., Black & Veatch Corporation, requested that FEMA r(~vise the FIRM and FIS
report to show the effects of updated topographic information for the South Platte River from
approximately 500 feet upstream of East 104th Avenue to approximately 3,100 feet downstream of East
88th Avenue.

All data required to complete our review of this request were submitted with letters from _ J

We have completed our review of the submitted data and the flood data shown on the effective FIRM
and in the effective FIS report. We have revised the FIRM and FIS report to modify the elevations and
floodplain boundary delineations of the flood having a I-percent chance of being equaled or exceeded in
any given year (base flood) in the left overbank area along the South Platte River approximately
4,000 feet downstream of East 88th Avenue. As a result ofthe modifications, the Base Flood Elevations
(BFEs) for the South Platte River decreased, and the width of the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA),
the area that would be inundated by the base flood, increased in some areas and decreased in other
areas. The modifications are shown on the enclosed annotated copies of FIRM Panel 0800IC0335 G and
Profile Panel 138P. This Letter of Map Revision (LOMR.) hereby revises the above-referenced panel of
the effective FIRM and the affected portions of the FIS report, both dated August 16, 1995.

Because this revision request also affects the City of Commerce City and the unincorporated areas of
Adams County, separate LOMRs for those communities were issued on the sam(~ date as this LOMR.

The modifications are effective as of the date shown above. The map panel listed above and as modified
by this letter will be used for all flood insurance policies and renewals issued for your community.
