Clements, President
Pinewood Springs Water District
183 Cree Court
Lyons, Colorado 80540
Re: Feasibility Study for Alternate Water Supply Sources
Dear Mr. Clements,
In accordance with our earlier discussions, it is my understanding that the
Pinewood Springs Water District requests that I perform a feasibility study to
evaluate alternate sources of water supply to augment the cunent supply from
the Little Thompson River.
Such alternate sources to be ultimately evaluated would include the construc-
tion of a reservoir, or reservoirs, for storage, as well as raw water transmis-
sion sytems.
Currently being considered is an initial effort directed toward evaluating
alternative methods to enlarge the volume of Crescent Lake, either by broad-
ening its surface area, or deepening it, or a combination of both.
In this regard, I propose to conduct the following work for the estimated cost
as shown.
A) Broadenin the Surface Area of Crescent Lake
Analysis of available topographic data to determine the optimum extent of
expanding the surface area of the lake, supplemented with actual field surveys
to confirm specific critical elevations, and to identify adjoining property
boundary locations-- ---- ------------------------------------------------------$5000
Identification of additional land to be acquired to accommodate surface expan-
sion and determination of the degree of its availability and cost-----------$3000
Preliminary design and related construction cost estimate-----------------$4000
