North Platte Basin Roundtable Meeting 6-1-06

consistency will be the key to developing a strong project. As a North Platte Roundtable
member, Hal expressed the concern that if money was made available for a large project
in one basin feeding into the Colorado, the North Platte would get cut out of
participation. Eric emphasized that regarding non-consumptive water projects, the North
Platte Basin should identify those attributes we value and want to manage. He
challenged us to define our vision for the North Platte and articulate where we want to
put our energies.

Dina commented that she would have liked to have known about the meeting Hal
attended and suggested that we should share meeting information among our group. At
this time, the North Platte Roundtable doesn't have a streamlined communication system
in place. Some members have email, others do not. Kent noted that we are a body that
currently functioning without u\1lds and that streamlining a communication system is a
bit of a challenge at the moment. Eric's staff at DNR can help us post meeting notices
and minutes to the group. Kent tries to call or mail items to members without email
access.

Next meeting scheduled for June 27, 3-5 p.m. at the FS conference room. Kent asked the
group to try to review the SWSI report on the North Platte Basin and be ready to discuss
the following items at our next meeting. 1) Where are there holes in our ability to fund
water activity? 2) Where might a grant program complement other activities? 3)
Consider Eric's question to the group as to where we want to put our efforts as a
roundtable.

We all agreed that we need to move forward in considering our needs assessments and
that these questions will promote that discussion.
