Colorado Water for the 21st Century
Metro Roundtable - Meeting Minutes

January 10, 2007 4:00 - 6:10 PM
Koelbel Library

Doug Scott chaired the meeting.

Chips Barry reported on the IBCC meeting in November. He expects that the
next IBCC meeting on February 2 will include a discussion of Colorado River
Compact matters.

Rick Brown reported that the deadline for SB-179 submissions is January 11. He
described the general scope of activities that might be covered by SB-179 funds.
He reported generally on the Gunnison, Colorado, and Yampa roundtable
meetings.

There was a general discussion of potential legislation during 2007 that might
affect potential water transfers and water supply development studies in
Colorado.

Sue Morea and Rick Brown presented and led a discussion of a chart, in draft
form, entitled "Technical Support to Basin Roundtables and IBCC" for the Metro
Roundtable. They indicated that the chart, together with other similar charts for
the other roundtables, would become available for review online as these charts
are refined in the near-future.

There was a general discussion of funding opportunities and challenges to move
forward with "Addressing the Gap" alternatives that were considered by the Metro
Roundtable at its November meeting.

Tracy Bouvette presented an overview of the status for the Chatfield Reservoir
reallocation study, noting that there is a funding shortfall of $130,000 in order to
maintain continuity in the EIS and feasibility report process. He reported that the
South Platte Basin roundtable recently approved $27,000 for funding of the
Chatfield study, based on the percentage of the 20,600 acre-feet of Chatfield
storage that will be used by non-Denver Metro water users. After discussion, the
Metro Roundtable voted unanimously (17 members present) to approve an
application for use of $103,000 from SB-179 funds from the Metro Roundtable
allocation, to be used for furtherance of the Chatfield Reservoir study.

The next meeting is scheduled for February 7, location to be announced.

Prepared by: Gary Thompson
February 4, 2007

Page I of 1
