Colorado Water for the 21st Century
Metro Roundtable - Meeting Minutes

May 9, 2007 4:00 - 6:20 PM
lakewood - Hampton Inn

Doug Scott chaired the meeting.

Peter Binney, Chips Barry, and Erich Hecox reported on highlights of the IBCC
meeting that was held earlier on May 9. CWCB staff is preparing a draft scope of
work for consideration by interested roundtables concerning an investigation of
the volumes of water that might potentially be available for transbasin diversion
from the Colorado River and its tributaries in Colorado. The study may have a
cost of roughly $500,000. This study would involve the roundtables and
numerous other entities, together with consideration of potential State Engineer's
rules concerning how a Colorado River "compact call" among Colorado water
users might be administered.

Jeris Danielson reported on the Arkansas Roundtable. He said that the
Arkansas Roundtable is attempting to prioritize its needs, considering the diverse
needs throughout the basin.

Peter Binney gave an overview presentation on Aurora's Prairie Waters Program.
He pointed out that the PWP was developed, in part, because it could be more
easily permitted (or permitted with more certainty) than a project that involves
new transbasin diversions. Completion of the first phase is expected by late
2010.

Ray Waterman gave an overview presentation of a draft version of the "Regional
Water Master Plan Update" for the South Metro Water Supply Authority.

Janet Bell reported that Ms. Pointer's presentation on evapotranspiration data in
the foothills areas near Denver includes numerous years of data. This study will
be posted on the IBC website.

The next meeting is scheduled for June 13 at Parker Water and Sanitation
District.

Prepared by: Gary Thompson
June 8, 2007

Page I of 1
