<br />Colorado Water for the 21st Century <br />Metro Roundtable - Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />April 12, 2006 <br />Koelbel Library <br />Centennial, Colorado <br />4:00 - 6:25 PM <br /> <br />Chairman Doug Scott chaired the meeting. The minutes for the March 8 meeting <br />were approved. <br /> <br />Carla Brown (Colorado Foundation for Water Education) provided Director's <br />Notebooks for all roundtable members. The Foundation is providing similar <br />notebooks for other roundtables around the state. <br /> <br />There was a general report by the IBCC representatives. The IBCC charter was <br />ratified in March and sent to the legislature for approval. Doug Scott provided a <br />general description of the structure and current direction of the IBCC. The next <br />IBCC meeting is scheduled for August. <br /> <br />Jim Westkott, Senior Demographer at the State Demography Office, Department <br />of Local Affairs, provided a presentation on Colorado long-term economic and <br />population forecasts. This presentation included state-wide and regional growth <br />forecasts extending to 2025. <br /> <br />Janet Bell reported that SWSI may have specific water supply concepts available <br />for discussion by about July. <br /> <br />It was reported that an appropriation of $950,000 is contemplated in the current <br />legislation to support the Roundtable process. <br /> <br />It was agreed that the next Metro Roundtable meeting will include discussion of <br />specific water needs in the Metro area. <br /> <br />The next scheduled meeting date: <br />Date: May 10, 2006 <br />Time: 4:00 - 7:00 PM <br />Location: Parker Water & Sanitation District (North Reclamation Plant) <br /> <br />Prepared by: <br /> <br />Gary Thompson <br />May 6, 2006 <br /> <br />Page I of 1 <br />
