<br />6 <br /> <br />Feasibility Study <br />Hope Ditch Company <br />Replacement Well Project <br /> <br />Introduction (Need for the Project) <br /> <br />Hope Oitch Company (HOC), located in Adams County, operates the well and distribution system <br />for the benefit of the shareholders and non-shareholder by providing water for the Weisner <br />subdivision. The well water is supplemented by trucking in water during the late spring, summer, <br />and early fall months, as the well cannot produce enough to meet the community requirements. <br />The well is 36 years old and the pipe is old and deteriorating and the perforations are clogging up <br />with corrosion. It is now pumping lest than 10%, with trucked in water, of the allocated acre-feet. <br /> <br />Project Sponsor <br /> <br />The HOC is a ditch company and a non-profit corporation registered in the State of Colorado. <br />There are 21 shareholders and 2 non-shareholders (users). The HOC has the power to set <br />rates and fee to be paid by the users. The HOC articles of incorporation and by-laws are <br />included in Appendix A. <br /> <br />Project Service Area and Facilities <br /> <br />The HOC provides water to the Weisner subdivision area in Adams County. The well and <br />storage facilities are located in the southwest corner of lot 24 of the Weisner subdivision. A map <br />of the service area is included in this report. <br /> <br />Hydrology and Water Rights <br /> <br />The source of water for the Company is from the Laramie & Fox Hill sand aquifer.
